  1. Nope.  A horse that has been cloned cannot be registered as a thoroughbred, so any offspring from that horse will not be able to be registered as both parents must be fully registered TBs.

In GB we have something called the non-thoroughbred register, this is for horses who's parentage cannot be proved, or those whos parents were not registered.  In this case I believe once you are 3 generations away from a horse that is on the non-TB register (ie the grandchild of a non-TB) you can register on the TB register.

  2. No.  A cloned Thoroughbred is not eligible for registry with The Jockey Club, and so none of its offspring would be eligible for registry.

The Jockey Club won't even allow use of artificial insemination (AI), won't consider embryo transfer, and absolutely will not consider registering clones.

This is the specific rule that The Jockey Club has regarding eligibility for registration:

"D. To be eligible for registration, a foal must be the result of a stallion’s Breeding with a broodmare (which is the physical mounting of a broodmare by a stallion with intromission of the p***s and ejaculation of s***n into the reproductive tract). As an aid to the Breeding, a portion of the ejaculate produced by the stallion during such mating may immediately be placed in the uterus of the broodmare being bred. A natural gestation must take place in, and delivery must be from, the body of the same broodmare in which the foal was conceived. Without limiting the above, any foal resulting from or produced by the processes of Artificial Insemination, Embryo Transfer or Transplant, Cloning or any other form of genetic manipulation not herein specified, shall not be eligible for registration."

A cloned foal could not be registered.  Therefore any offspring of a clone could not be registered.

  3. you don't breed disposition when cloning takes place, just the physical.  when an animal is cloned you also get any physical problems of the parents.
