forever to us humans means a lifetime. because once we're gone, forever doesnt matter, except in heaven/h**l. if people started saying "this'll last to the end of my lifetime" as opposed to "this'll last forever", it would be boring. do you see my point?

Good question. Maybe cause some people believe that god is an eternal entity. But eternity has to start somewhere, from the beginning of time. Then it's still not eternal. Life is weird, my friend.
