  1. If you search for "Russian abiotic oil" you will find three things. Oil is not a fossil fuel (the deepest fossil ever found versus the deepest oil ever found) and it is everywhere you are willing to look, or drill, and it can replenish itself.

When the Americans left Vietnam they told them "you have no resources, good luck" yet the Russians moved in and used their deep drilling technology and now Vietnam is self-sufficient in oil. The Russians get a heft kickback every year from this alone - check out how much energy they have already.

The Antarctic has truly vast quantities of everything our modern society needs. From anthracite fields the size of small countries that are a half mile thick to uranium, copper, bauxite, gold, silver and.... lots and lots of oil. There is a moratorium on the Antarctic for good reason - the elite are treating it as their "stash" for later on. The Argentinians send pregnant women there every year to give birth at one of their "research" stations and the main reason margaret thatcher went to war over the Falkland islands (offshore of which there are also massive reserves). There used to be news items about this but not for the last 25 years. I wonder why?

This "crisis" is manufactured. The real problem is a refining problem - there are not enough being built. Since the seventies  there have hardly been any built in the west yet we have massive amounts of oil-sand and shale which as soon as oil reached $15 a barrel became economically feasible to bring to market. But.

We have been capping any local discoveries for decades and using the furthest supplies, whilst the transportation costs have been cheap, and keeping our own close to our chest for when/if there is a problem getting the far away stuff. This is a sensible strategy until you mix it with 30 year old refineries.

Oil is just another step on our journey to the future of mankind. We used to burn dung and wood and coal and now we burn oil and uranium but we will develop new technology. Man has never met a problem he has not solved or we would not be having this debate.

  2. if you know you are going to die someday why bother to live anyway?

  3. Because the rate of temperature rise exceeds the rate of oil depletion...not all of which has even been discovered.

  4. the only thing we have to worry about is the global warming advocates scamming us out of our money by telling us that we are causing global warming.

  5. 1. The damage may be done BEFORE the oil runs out.

    2. If coal or natural gas replaces oil we won't be any better off than before it ran out.

  6. I know you don't koodle and we need to worry about global warming because it'll happen before the oil run out.

  7. Duh, because the whole thing is a scam.

But don't worry too much about it. Studies have shown the forests of the world, such as the Amazon, are dying out because...we're not producing enough carbon dioxide for them to live off.

  8. So the Un funded power grab can be sucessful in controlling all aspects of our personal lives.

  9. Because Al Gore says to worry and i do everything Al Gore says to do

  10. There is still *lots* of coal, and the possibility of methane hydrate.

Beyond this, there are some sulfer-hexafloride related chemicals which are incredibly powerful.

  11. The effect of global warming can be seen now onwards. Oil is not the only resaon for global warming & we cannot just sit ideal and wait for our distruction.

  12. By the time it does it will be too late to worry

    .. .. ..

No matters what the earth goes threw cycles of warming cooling in its history

and for mankind to be the blame for using a un-replenish-able fuel source is stupid to begin with

    .. .. ..

It is not the warming effect mankind should be worried about it is

    .. .. ..

When the oil is no longer easy to get if at all

    .. .. ..

That means that 99% of every thing we use and need  is no longer avaliable because the one important ingerdeant to the cake so to say is missing curde oil

    .. .. ..

Now this is world wide disaster beyond belief.

    .. .. ..

  13. booby.mc

That would be a study from which fictional study or studies that you have no link to support.

  14. Coal generates 40% of the worlds electricity (oil only 7%) and 25% of total world energy (oil 35%).

But far worse than that is the process of converting coal to liquid fuel which can then be used in cars.  This form of fuel emits twice as much CO2 as current oil-based gasoline.  And there are powerful, highly funded groups promoting this approach as the "solution" to the oil shortage.

There is a lot of coal left and with current oil prices, an enormous amount of money that could be made from coal if people continue to doubt it's effect on global warming.  That's where the incentive to obfuscate the dangers of global warming comes from and that's why trusting anyone from the mining industry to be honest about global warming is naive.
