  1. once you get your PR card then you go and apply for a new SIN

  2. when you get AIP you MUST first apply for an open work permit and then take the work permit to the HRSDC and apply for a  temporary SIN number. This number has an expiry date and is tioed to the WP.

IF your WP expires you need to apply to renew it, and if the SIN number expires then some companies will not allow you to continue working until you the SIN is renewed and some companies will allow you to coninue working. In the IRPA law, you are allowed to continue workling even while you are in implied status (applied for and wait for the new WP).

when you are landed, then you MUST wait for the PR card to be issued befoe you can change your temporary SIN to a permenent SIN number. That is HRSDC policy and they choose to not recognize the paper landing form you get when you land as a PR.
