  1. I always drink what I like and have never cared for white or blush wines, I will go with Cabs/Merlots/Shiraz regardless of what "proper etiquette" says I should serve with a particular meal. It's about enjoying your meal and your wine.

  2. A nice light red is Pinot Noir, but my favorite is Livingston Red Rose.  It has a beautiful deep red color, but is much lighter than other reds and kind of sweet.  It goes with everything.  If you don't want a sweet red, go with the Pinot Noir.

  3. Any light-bodied red or rose would work. Beaujolais is traditional with salmon, even though it is a red.

  4. If you don't like white wine for pity's sake drink what you do like ;)

Of course, if you're having folks over for the soiree and you get a wine snob they may judge you harshly.  If that is the case, I would hang with a different crowd.

But rest assured the world will still continue to spin if you pair seafood with red wine.

  5. A rose or a light Pinot Noir. The Willamette Valley in Oregon puts out some excellent Pinots done in the Burgundy style that should work. However, why not try experimenting with some different whites to find one you may like. Some really easy ones to drink are 4 Vines Naked Chardonnay (an unoaked Chard that will not taste all buttery) or a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand are good places to start.

  6. personally I do not care for most white wines.

I also hold to the belief that you should drink wine to enjoy it, not to please someone else or to meet their expectations.

with seafood and "light fare"  I am quite content with a blush or rose', something moderately crisp and flavorful that strikes a nice balance between the dry of the whites and the heaviness of the reds without being sweet.

    ENJOY !
