I'm 21 years of age and I have yet to get a job. I just applied for my first job a few weeks ago and didn't get the job. I just applied for another and I'm awaiting for a phone call to go to an interview. Since I'm 21 and inexperienced, can people hold that against me? Don't they want someone they can mold?

  1. It depends on the job you are applying for.  If they provide training, then don't worry about it.

Since you don't have work experience, you need a resume to show what you can do and gives other examples of experience.  For example, if you have had a leadership role in a school acivity, you can put that on a resume.  Things like a team captain, or an officer of a club responsible to member ship, fund raising or organizing an event .  If you had responsibility for something, put that on your resume.  - this stuff goes to show that you are capable, organized and a leader.

You probably have worked at some point, but you need to be a little creative.  Did you ever take care of someone's house or pets while they were away - then you were a house sitter.

    Babysitting?

What ever you write be sure it is the truth.  Employers look for integrity, honesty, and someone willing to try real hard.  If that is you, give them an example to illustrate it - then they can make the connection.
