If only men can be drafted, up until the age of 26, shouldn't only men be able to vote until the same time?

Don't worry, I really don't think this. I am just using it to illustrate a point. I hate the draft. Besides, according to the 13th amendment, it is unconstitutional.

  1. A similar question was floated about people serving in the military at age 18, but not allowed to vote or drink until 21.

I never thought these things were related.

What I do think is that females should have been subject to the draft just like guys, especially with women's lib talking about equality.

  2. Uh, there currently is no draft for anyone in the US.

  3. WHAT IS WRONG WITH DRAFTING PEOPLE TO SERVE AND PROTECT THIS GLORIOUS COUNTRY. SHOULD WE DRAFT BODIES WHEN OUR ENEMIES ARE LANDING ON OUR SHORES. THE AMENDMENT DOES NOT COMPLETELY BAN THE DRAFT BECAUSE IT DOES ALLOW FOR 'LIMITED EXCEPTIONS'. HAVE YOU EVERY KNOWN A POLITICALLY SAVVY LAWYER NOT TO LEAVE AN ESCAPE CLAUSE IN LEGISLATION.

  4. I think that since taxpayers pay the ENTIRE cost of government only taxpayers should be allowed to vote.  After all we don't let employees decide how much they should be paid; or children decide their allowances.
