  1. No.  There is not enough of it available at an affordable price to satisfy demand.

  2. Sure, there's plenty of sun, wind and water power around, if we grabbed it.

  3. yes. in one place in the Philippines, residents are using wind energy. Residents said that renewable energy were much cheaper. If people would be using it as a new source then it would somehow solve the energy problem.

  4. It's a bit of a double-edged sword.  It would somewhat solve the energy problem, but there are other problems that it might create.  We still need to consume less and find greener technologies to reduce pollution.  A lot of the power would be stored in battery supplies.  If handled incorrectly, batteries have a very negative impact on the environment.  There's a combination of activities that must occur so that we can have a truly green future.  With that being said, I think we should all support renewable energy whenever possible.  It's a step in the right direction, just don't forget about other green activities.

  5. Yes. Renewable energy is basically solar and geothermal. And there's more than enough of that to allow the whole world to live an 'american' lifestyle if we all converted.

And that's not counting possible zero point energy that would truly be limitless.

  6. Maybe not. Everything we do as people has an effect on the planet, when you have six and a half billion human beings and most of them want to consume energy like Americans then renewable energy could have negative consequences.

If all of the US electricity came from wind power (which is possible) all of those windmills would actually change the weather. Keep in mind if you take energy out of the wind to turn turbines then the wind will have less force and speed to push weather systems across the continent.

Renewable energy sources like solar, wind and wave are all better than burning fossil fuels but ultimately we still have to boost efficiency and conserve energy too. The planet isn't big enough for all of us to have Hummers even if they could run on a clean green energy source.

A big part of the world's energy problem is from our expectations.
