It is often used in schools to encourage kids who aren't "the best" to still participate and give their best and to have fun even if they're not very good. I'm a musician and mathematician and like this epigraph. We can't all be the best but we can still enjoy what we're doing. First place I saw this quote was on the wall by the instrument checkout window in the music building at San Diego State University.
