If our US politics is all lies, what good is politics for solving real common problems?

It's the job of the voting population to be informed and hold our public servants accountable for their actions. I guess we haven't done a very good job.

Politics actually isn't all bluster, and it's certainly not all lies. Is there spinning? Absolutely. There is also some good work that takes place when no one is looking. Otherwise, you'd never have a budget, you've never have any laws passed, etc.

I know that's hard to believe sometimes, particularly at this time of the year, but it's true. You are welcome to believe what you choose to believe though.

The goal in politics is not to solve problems, but rather to enrich the politicians, and their already wealthy friends even more. For example I give you two oil men in office and what happened? The oil companies made record profits and got record tax cuts at the same time. our system of government is broken, and does not care for the middle class, but only the wealthy and the corporations. We will not survive the next 30 years as a nation, if we do not correct our problems and take care of the middle class that is paying the taxes for the rich.

Nothing. You are correct. Nothing ....the congress and government do as they wish because the american people no longer voice opinions and protest. Time for people to be involved and voice their opinions, til that happens, nothing we do matters. We need to be a voice that is HEARD!
