We are helpful for lots of things.  Since you mentioned shoes, we are helpful for putting  them where they don't get lost so we have them when they are needed.  And we are helpful to those who are less fortunate than we are.  At least some of us are.  We are helpful for those who ask questions and answer them if we can. And we are helpful to those who are lost and direct them in the way they need to go so they can find their way to the desired destination.  There isn't enough room here to list all the ways we are or can be helpful, but this will give you some ways to think about.  Isn't a kind word often helpful too?  I hope it will make me helpful to you.   =]
