for cars to run on gasoline and now they know they are running out and will get very expensive. Why didn't they come up with an alternative fuel way back then!? And why aren't they working on it hard now! Don't they know that kids are gonna have to live with a hard job someday to help the earth with global warming and deforestation and how thin our ozone layer is getting! The running out of helium! Does anyone else feel as afraid as me and my friends about how we have to do and fix all of that in the future!?

  1. clearly, there will be a problem in the future.

however, people currently use gasoline, and heating oil, because it's easy and cheap.

consider, you don't produce the food you eat.

you could live on a farm, and grow all your own food.

    but you don't.

going to the supermarket is just too easy.

in the same way, burning coal, oil, and gas, provides us with enormous amounts of energy.

it would/will be difficult and expensive to use a different source.

however, now that energy is becoming more expensive, it makes more sense to develop different sources.

if you're worried about your future, you might look at politics today.

this country spends much more money than it takes in.

we have the largest debt in history.

if the national debt were divided up, and everyone made to pay their share, including all of the babies, you personally would owe $30,000 to $40,000.

it will be more next year.

if you watch politicians debate, you might note that they all promise tax cuts -- but no reasonable way to reduce the money that's spent.  they all say that someone else will pay more, so you can pay less.

for many decades now, no politician has gotten elected who has not promised a tax cut.

so the country borrows more and more money, and people growing up today have to pay.

something like $3,000 of everyone's taxes goes just to pay interest on the national debt.

the debt keeps going up, so in 5 years, it'll be $4,000 just to pay interest.

    forever.

for your children and grandchildren even.

our debt today is a tax on our children and grandchildren.

do you remember the Boston Tea Party?

    what was the excuse?

    "No taxation without representation."

isn't that what is happening today?

taxing our children --- because they cannot vote to stop it.

i think that the country, and world, will find alternative energy sources.

they may be more expensive, but they will be found.

an awful lot of people have an unfortunate habit of not looking at a problem, until they have no choice.

for many it started when they were kids -- not doing homework until the last minute.

seems that they've just not grown up yet.

  2. At the end of World War II almost every small town had trolleys, the people of the united states were sold out by the politicians.  The mass transit systems were privatized.  Sold to GM and Goodyear, who promptly dismantled them thus requiring the average Joe to buy an auto, just to get to work.

During the gas shortage in the Seventy's the big push was for mass transit and better fuel economy. The old VW bug got 30 MPG.  Farmers were using hydrazine to fertilize their Fields and run their tractors, but they had to be real careful because that much power could burn up your engine.  Or give three times the mileage, if you just drove normal. There is no way to tax fertilizer for road use.  Besides it has a short shelf life as fuel, but you can still dump it on your crops.  The oil company's objected to the use of hydrogen hydride's because they said there was no pollution data.  All that water spewing out of exhaust pipes could cause fog or something.

  3. A NEW OIL SOURCE HAS BEEN FOUND, WE'RE JUST WAITING ON THE PRESIDENT NOW.

  4. Hey I soo agree with you who knows what going to happen when we are older I think most of us won't be ale to aford a standard living.

  5. we should use public transport more than our privet,in this way consumption of fuel is less, and pollution also less .up to some extent,we can prevent from global issues like global warming and depletion of zone.we should conserve nature in a sustainable way not conserve it  just for own sake.

  6. Hi..

I totally agree with u. I am as scared as u are.

I am praying someone comes up with a work around soon.

I firmly believe this issue needs a bigger addressing and needs lot of awareness. This much be discussed as a serious concern.

And thank u for bringing the question. This has been bothering me too.

  7. They did.  There were electric and steam cars way back then.  But gas was cheaper so gas took over.  We do things the cheapest easiest way.  Now with the price of gas climbing so high, we will start using alternatives.  Why burn oil in power plants when we have an unlimited supply of nuclear energy.  People were worried about a nuclear meltdown so we haven't built nuclear power plants for 30 years.  Maybe if they have to walk the 10 miles to work every day they will consider nuclear energy to be okay.  If you live in a wood frame house why are you complaining about deforestation.  We have seen the enemy and the enemy is us.  To solve the problem become part of the solution.  We can go nowhere unless everyone chips in, but it must start somewhere.  Why not you?

  8. Why do you think people are working hard to make your life easier for you?

Corporations don't understand feelings.   They only understand money.  and money is a representation of work.  Gasoline is high because people will not move themselves.  They will drive a quarter mile.  People are addicted to the cars.

For use to get new slave owners, and get rid of the old slave owners, people have to get collectively upset to the point where they make a new person to give their money too.

You don't have to drive.  If you are scared, bike or walk yourself around.
