Question:

If people tend to say "Neato" or "Wow" a lot in response to something you say, are they really saying "STFU"

Are they just using euphamisms to replace what they are really thinking about what you just said.

And is what they are really thinking more along the lines of "PLEASE STFU, NOW"

I have a feeling that this is so, but i'm not sure...

  1. Sometimes.  Depends on the conversation topic.


  2. If they keep repeating those kinds of words, then they're probably bored out of their minds with the conversation....

  3. Yeah, likely.  I think I use "wow" when I talk to one coworker in particular.  My only hope is that she figures out I want her to leave me alone and shuts up...

  4. Maybe.  However, I would much rather say, "wow" than STFU, and sometimes it's more effective.
