If plants need to be pollinated by birds and insects in order to grow, how do houseplants grow all year round?

There are definitely not bees flying around my house, and yet plants grow non stop. Why don't they need to be pollinated?

  1. They only need pollination  to reproduce.  They grow just fine without.


  2. Some plants are self-pollinating, and others don't produce pollen.
