  2. I believe you will find that Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex, is the honourary Colonel of his Regiment.  He is not the active commander of the Regiment.  Therefore, if the Regiment is sent into action the honourary Colonel does not serve on active service with it.

  4. HRH the Earl of Wessex holds honorary appointments as Colonel in Chief of two Canadian regiments.  These confer no actual authority, and are merely ceremonial in nature.
