  1. Because rental markets and sales markets are different.


  2. The rent should be going down soon.  A lot.  Hold on.  .

  3. It's the market... My place goes up every lease renewal as well.

    A lot of private LL's (as oppose to companies/agencies) don't raise rent with the market (they CAN, don't mistake "don't" for can't!) just most don't.

    But dang near all rental communities run by agencies or corp's do...

  4. Because the cost of everything else is going up and your landlord needs more money, so there you are along with other tenants....
