Question:

If "Hybrids" are so much stronger, why can't my Prius get up a hill?

I see all these dog experts in here talking about how "Hybrid Vigor" makes their "designer dog" so much stronger and healthier. So I figured that expert knowledge must apply to everything and I got a Hybrid Car.

My kid's tricycle has more power. Does this prove the "Hybrid Vigor" theory wrong once and for all?

  1. Global Warming - yet another instance of the reality not living up to the hype.

  2. Maybe if you can find a way to combine your prius with a poodle it will work better :-)

  3. Flintstones!  LMAO!

Yes it does, a mutt is no healthier than any other.

  4. Too funny!

  5. Is your prius "bleu"?  (Jeff Dunham joke LOL)

Well, ok so its not stronger.. but is it hypoallergenic?

  6. There's so much angst in the dog section, maybe we should stick to hanging out with canines.

  7. sounds like you need either:

    a less slippery hill

    better/grippier tires

The base Prius, as sold in North America, comes with Goodyear Integrity tires (OE tires on many cars, not just the Prius), which are rather poorly-rated by owners, and with even a little bit of wear can slip on ice or loose gravel/dirt on an incline.  With the slippage, the Prius' overly-aggressive traction control kicks in, and you can find yourself stuck on such a slippery hill.  Changing your pedal pressure, or backing up and trying a different spot on the hill, may work, but for the long-term you should look at upgrading your tires.  Most owners report no to fewer problems once installing better tires, such as Michelin X-Radials or Nokian WRs.

Even sled dog owners (besides city-dwelling dog walkers) will put booties on their dogs to protect the feet and give better traction in snowy/icy conditions.  You should do the same with your hybrid.

  8. perhaps you don't have enough "desiger..ness" in your "hybrid car", as in only the best "designer dogs" the more oodle perkies that are in the breed the more vigor is produced... errr or something
