If religion was abolished (not tomorrow, but in 100 years or so), would there be arguments over different scientific theories? (as severe as Creation vs Evolution)

  1. They tried it in Russia and China. It didn't work.

  2. You can abolish religion, but you'll never abolish God.

Do you really think people would stop praying?

  3. There will always be the unknown, unexplained, there will always be theories,hypothesis...If they choose to argue then that's different,it's about who's right, therefore wars,...So,We should advance past that.

  4. Imagine If religion was abolished, more than half of world's problems would be over.

  5. abolished as in forcibly taken away as a right?

there would be anarchy and rightly so.

if it fades away on its own, we'll find new and more interesting reasons to hate eachother.

  6. that's right Linda J, you can't abolish something that doesn't exist

there will always be argument, but perhaps without religion it would be more on the basis of logic and reason, and there wouldn't be people as devoted to their own cause.

  7. I believe not, because scientific theories have to be proven, and scientists have standard procedures for doing that, which would no doubt be perfected by then.

There are no severe Creationist versus Evolutionary arguments: each side very civilizedly proves that the other side has no brain, and no one gets hurt.

I define "severe argument" as getting Arkacided because you invented the 200mpg carburettor.

  8. humans will debate over EVERYTHING till the end of our time.

no two believe the same exact thing, so there shall always be strife.

  9. no and even now noone cares about it in this section.

    That wont happen. Christianity rules.

  10. Yes

    Scientists argue all the time.

(heard of global warming, man made, natural????)

    Politicians manipulate science, too.

  11. Yes and no. There are some very strong arguments for some very debated theories. They are sometimes as hardcore as the creation vs evolution arguments. Such as cold fusion, or sonoluminescence as a fusion method.

  12. yes

  13. They would find out God is real.

  14. For sure.  Religion isn't the only philosophy that people argue over.  Two non-religious arguments that immediately spring to mind are global warming and abortion.  So the abolition of religion will do nothing towards ending arguments.

  15. Creation has nothing to do with science!   so , NO!
