It has been proven take-away packaging impact on environment because it often takes massive amounts of energy to create, and much of it doesn’t properly decompose. Although some green restaurants have started to use take-away packaging made of biodegradable materials, this isn't the best solution.

  1. Yes

  2. not sure if i would or not - i would definitely support NO MORE PLASITIC or other toxic materials - i think reliable is the best solution - reusable that the customers supply.

  3. Absolutely, I would support it because traditional plastic is bad for the environment.  Plastic never biodegrades because it's man made and the enzymes and the micro organisms responsible for breaking down organic materials don’t recognize them. As time passes plastic will eventually break down into smaller and smaller pieces, but no matter how small the pieces they are still and always will be plastic. I like using the biodegradable materials like Bio plastic that is made of plant materials such as cornstarch, potato starch etc. so they can biodegrade.

  4. 100% yes!

  5. It would be great if they used reusable products, like Glad Ware. I have enough trouble going to stores and saying I don't want a bag or can I use my own bag. It is frustrating. I wish I could bring my own containers to restaurants.

  6. Absolutely!!!  The City of Oakland passed a styrofoam ban for take-away packaging.  Restaurants are required to use paper products or compostable containers.  Fortunately, we in Alameda co have food scrap recycling and those containers can be entered into those bins and get composted commercially.

  7. yes.  It seems most likely to succeed if advertised and promoted as a green solution.  Perhaps offering the alternative of bring your own take away containers and save

x $.  Either or approaches seldom work change.  Everyone needs to accept the idea without feeling forced in any way.

  8. Definately yess!!
