  1. Iggy Pop and Anthony Keidis would be good Decathletes...those dudes are cut

  2. Band

    Gold-Black Sabbath

    Silver-Deep Purple

    Bronze-Blue Oyster Cult

    Guitarist

    Gold-Jimmy Page

    Silver-Yngwie Malmsteen

    Bronze-Joe Satriani

  3. If douche-baggery was a foot race it would be an amazing contest between Fred Durst and Kid Rock. I think Kid Rock hits the line about .02 seconds before Durst. Durst is a bit past his prime.

    Kid Rock gets the gold!

In the women's division for obnoxiousness I think Gwen Stephani finally loses to Rhianna by a score of 21-14, 21-17. She still holds her head high, securing the silver. She had a good run. She was jus no match (no one is) for someone who would actually go "umbrella-ella-ella"

Men's division. This was up for grabs going into the semis with an incredibly obnoxious final 4. Kid Rock was upset by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy (I actually had to google it, proud to say), winning 21-18, 16-21, 25-23. Chad Kroeger in a surprisingly dominant upset over Gerard Way (I thought it would be a lot closer, but I guess you play the game for a reason) 21-12, 21-4. Setting up two more great matches to solve the medals. In the bronze medal match, a match that the experts would have seen as the most likely gold medal match, Kid Rock redeemed himself and defeated Gerard Way 26-24, 17-21, 21-19. A battle of obnoxiousness that will end up on ESPN Classics one day for certain. Unfortunately, after such an amazing bronze match the gold medal battle to be the most obnoxious man in modern music was a bit of a let down. Once Stump reminded us that he actually named a song with a schtick of taking out all of the vowels nobody could really touch him in this Olympiad. Stump defeated Kroeger 21-13, 21-16.

    Gold: Patrick Stump

    Silver: Chad Kroeger

    Bronze: Kid Rock

I like quite a bit of U2. I'm not a FAN or anything, but I certainly get it. Even Better Than The Real Thing is one example of a really great track that gets me happy that, though it was a single isn't talked about much anymore. Achtung Baby was a pretty good record as a whole.

  5. The gold would go to zeppelin all the way

  6. Eric Clapton gets my vote for the the gold as guitarist, and The Who get my gold vote as a band

and to the U2 overrated guy, Sunday Bloody Sunday usually gets me out of my chair. But I guess that's because I'm a big fan. Different styles i guess.

  7. Relay/ Cheap Trick - Ain't That A Shame

All band members have a short solo piece at the end of the song.

    100 meter smash/ Pete Townshend

    Guitars never stand a chance.

    Cycling/ Queen - Bicycle Race

Somehow their performance is connected to Fat Bottomed Girls.

Pool events/ Peter Gabriel - I Go Swimming

Former Genesis frontman ekes out Talking Heads, Beach Boys.

Overall/ Sting - Fields Of Gold

No one wins so many medals you have to lay them in fields!

  8. U2 wins the gold for overrated....

Please allow me to briefly rant. Yes, they've made good music for a very long time. Name one friggin' song of theirs that gets you out of your chair. I can't even think of one that makes me tap my toe. The one with the most energy is Discoteque and hardcore U2 fans don't even like that song or that album.

This is only for Rock music, if it was for all types of music then none of these would win. There are better artists out there who most of these guys were influenced by.
