If seeing is light hitting the retina in the eye then how is it possible to dream? ?

If that is light we see then I think it can be captured from faint reflections off of the retina..................................... then sold on e-bay

dreaming is your mind/brain remembering things u already saw

or using the patterns of what u saw to make up new stories/thoughts

i doubt u r bright enough to capture anything to sell on ebay or anywhere else

The "dream state" is also known as REM sleep. REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement. I believe that as the eyes flicker rapidly under the eyelid they are "massaged" and can create the visual effects of dreaming. Close your eyes and gently rub the lid. See stars? I think this is how it works.

lovely question .....let me tell you  what some ancient hindu scriptures say about this....there is the body ,the mind,the intellect and the soul or cosmic consciousness......its this soul that lights up the dreams....i know all this may sound boring and unscientific but this is what ive read....go ahead and research on this topic....maybe u could come out with a better answer.....good question anyways

light hits the retina, and the message of the light is sent to the brain, it is interpreted by the brain, and that's how we "see". So when we dream, we can create pictures in our brain, by creatively combining memories of what we have seen in the past.
