Question:

If some of my car parts ceased during fixing will all of them?

I got my car fixed a few months ago, replaced clutch, well the mechanic found a whole lot of problems and all the parts where seized, ended up costing me 4000.

Now my starter has gone and I'm going in to get it replaced tomorrow. I've already purchased the part, just getting the labour.

How likely is it that my starter parts will be seized and be even more work then the quote he gave me? (which is 1.5 hours to replace the starter)

  1. Well with older vehicles, when you begin to replace parts, the older ones can't keep up with the new ones so they begin dying.  Or---the mechanic could be getting over on you.  You may want to try a different repair facility or mechanic.  Good luck.

  2. It's simple to replace a starter. The only other thing that your mechanic may find wrong is a flywheel problem. That could be an issue especially because you just fixed the clutch. You should learn a little more about your car because unfortunately mechanics take advantage of people like you.
