If somebody hit your child in the back of the head, at gym class in school, is that a grave and serious issue?

This kid's mother came to the school complaining , because her son came home from school with a knot on his head. She wouldn't leave until she was satisfied that the Principal would really do something about it. So, the teacher asked us for a long time what happened, and I was laughing to myself, because it was far fromthe most serious issue I remember. I do recall someone banging two kids heads together like in the cartoons... But, when the mother came to the school, she had this grey face and was speaking in undertones... It was so funny.

There is a lot more bullying and agressive behavior at school than there used to be.  Someone threw a rock at my son on the outdoor basketball court during lunch at middle school and it really hurt him. It made him cry in front of others and he came home with a big knot on his head. Teachers did not see it happen, but I called the school the next day and they found out who did it and took action.  Before my son went to that public school, he was at a much smaller private school where agressive and bullying behavior was not really heard of, and the emphasis at the school was to focus on being kind, thinking before you act, respecting other's differences.  

My son also got punched hard in the stomach when walking down the hall at that same school.  My son didn't even know the student.

This behavior has to stop before things get out of hand.  We need to have no tolerance for this behavior and have more focus in our schools on being kind and respectful to others.  People can still be playful without being agressive.

Bullying should not be tolerated at all.  That is the cause of a lot of the shootings that we hear about in the news.

i'm all about knocking your kid upside the head once in a while.  if i screwed up, i got the paddle.  and i turned out great.  america's youth is going to the crapper becuase we cant spank our kids.  thanks a lot soccer moms....

well.... parents doesnt want their kids to get hurt or get bullied by others.... their in school so that means the school have responsibility on what will happen to the child...

Yes, it is serious.  It's bullying.  Laughing about it is one reason our schools have an epidemic of violence on their hands.

If someone did that on purpose and left a lump on the kids head that is serious. That can cause a concussion. I would be making sure this was dealt with if it was done on purpose.

I would make that bored soccer mom look like a pussycat.

If an accident  happened then I would make sure the kids ok and take my kid to the Dr. If needed. Accidents happen.

Theres so much violent c**p going on in schools these days its crazy. No matter how funny it looked a lump on the head is not funny.

For the record I am all for school dicipline and no problem with spanking either but knocking heads is just wrong.

Is bad to hit the back of the head. If the strength is too strong it might caused concursion.

I would say put YOURSELF in the MOMS POSITION. would you want your child come home with a knot on his/her head. I am sure that if you love your child just as the  kid's mom , then you would not be laughing. I do understand that some kids are ruff and may get more than knots on thier heads in the furture, but the parents still deserve answers. I dont see how you can laugh at a situations like that.You have some serious growing up to do!

i find this serious, if anyone hurts my kids i want blood. the fact is if these children are being hit its abuse and someone should be punished for it.
