If someone calls you on the land line and you blast an air horn in the receiver would it cause....?

actual damage to their hearing or just temporary ringing in the ear? Or does it cause any discomfort at all?

I would say that it might cause some damage, but that is hilarious for telemarketers.  Most of them are on computer generated calls now though.

the sound may get a little louder to a certain point but most phones will only produce a certain level of decibals/sound that will be heard on the other end. they may have a little discomfort. Try it on a friend and ask them. ha.
