If someone else used my email address to visit or join a date site would i be able to fine out which ones ?

generally they'd send a confirmation e-mail to the joined e-mail address if someone used it to join. to visit the site, you'd need a browser, not an e-mail address, and if it was done via your computer you could look at the browser history. if it was done from the library your ISP may keep those records.
