I guy I don't trust gave me a check for money he owes me. If I go to the branc of the bank where his account is, can I cash the check immediately? Are there any provisions - do I need to bring ID? Do I have to have an account at the bank myself?

  1. Ofcourse

    But.

Only if it is post dated on the day you are going to cash your cash money

They would usually ask you for

2 peeses of ID and ask you if you wanna open an account wit dem, say no

  2. Some banks will not cash a check unless you ahve an account with them.

  3. YES WHY NOT

  4. yes - if he has funds in his account you can cash the check with a current valid state issued ID...if you do not have an account at that bank they will typically charge a $5.00 check cashing fee (the fee may vary depending on the bank)...

  5. Bring your ID, his money's waiting for you (we hope).

  6. You will need ID. Its preferred though to submit it at a bank where you have an account and keep the whole transaction electronic

  7. Yes, if the funds are there, a bank won't refuse one of it's own checks, they may charge a check cashing fee though and you will need an ID most likely.

  8. Cashing at that bank usually does require an account there but some banks are different. Depending on the size of the check you could cash at your branch or pay like a dollar fee and try to cash at a place like Grocery store info counter (some have that) once the money is in your hands it's not your issue it is now his/hers. If there isn't money in the account they would be able to see when they scan the check.

    Hope this helps!

  9. Bring ID, but you should be able to cash it at his bank.
