I know that things hold information. If by chance someone had a mirror in their possession, that could hold information in its physical self what would that be? How would the light being gathered and stuffed through, hold something about the owner and the light from outsrspace?

  1. I've heard a lot of spooky things about mirrors. I think people "imagined" a lot about them in years past. Who knows..it might be true. Just think how many people "gazed" into that mirror! Before that..they gazed into ponds and lakes...like  Narcissus. And you know what they said about him. ..that he fell in love with his image. Maybe it wasn't his image he fell in love with.Maybe there was a mermaid in the pond! If a mirror "reflects" then I doubt it would "absorb". But , if you were a novelist...I'll bet you could get a series of books out of the secrets a mirror holds!

HAY!What if you put a tv in front of your mirror..Do you think it would shatter from all that information and from intensity on soap operas?

Edit.. John...we're playing with our imaginations!! Right, Emma? We're  Freeeeeeeeeeeee Flowin'!!

  2. No, a mirror only reflects what is in front of it at the time - it does not store information.

  3. A quick physics lesson.... Mirrors reflect light, this is how they work. If it gathered light, then it would be black.

What you would need for what you are talking about is some kind of photo-sensitive material that would record the light coming in, and perhaps a lens or pinhole to focus this light. Actually, this is known as a camera, and we know a lot about the world over the past 40 years and more because of this.

edit: At least with cameras, retrieving the information is not nearly as dangerous as risking a pastametric backlash from a mirror.

  4. The pastametric pressure of all that stored history would almost certainly explode backward opening a hole into a parallel universe carrying with it the identities and souls of everyone who ever looked into the mirror.

The solution's too dangerous to be done by non-professionals, but the backing of the mirror needs to be carefully scraped away and buried with a human placenta and an acorn.  This will allow the pastametric energy to drain slowly upward and dissipate harmlessly as the oak matures into the future.
