  1. No to both.

The passport will be expired (and therefore unusable for travel) because they are valid for a maximum of 10 years and the British don't renew them the same way the US do (add pages to a passport). However, you would be able to use the old passport to easily prove your British citizenship and it would be easier to aquire a new passport. The expired British passport will be automatically cancelled when you apply for a new one to prevent it from being used for fradulent reasons.

British citizenship should stay with you. That is, of course, unless you've done something like entered the army of which they are at war at, gained citizenship of another country which only allows one type of citizenship (but I believe you have to renounce it I'm not too sure about that part because it may automatically happen).

  2. A holder of British nationality is British and there is no time limit on the amount of time they can spend abroad. I am an immigration solicitor

  3. no the UK does not revoke your citizenship based on no presence in the UK ,

worry not , you have the right to be out of your country and not loosing your citizenship .

you can get your passport renewed in an Embassy if you wish .

if you are in the US ? there are plenty of UK embassies .
