  1. it depends the bretherlizer can be done at the site...if you dont pass the bretherlizer then i dont think there is a need for a blood test...there is no reason to take a sober person down to the police station...so the bretherlizer would probably be done at the scene then the person is taken to the station if acused of drinking and driving.

  2. Either, or at a hospital if there are any injuries. Doesn't really matter.

  3. In this case the officer may do a Preliminary Breath Test on the scene. The full breath test, and possibly blood if the department has qualified staff members, will be done at the station or in a mobile testing unit if the department has one. Alternetively, in New York State an advanced EMS provider can do the draw in the field, even if the patient is not being transported. If the driver is being transported to the ED the officer will usually have the ED draw a sample.

  4. I would say right there at the scene because usually when the police think the driver is driving under the influence of alcohol they will stop them on the scene and give them tests like the Breathalyzer and singing the alphabet backwards.

  5. i have seen them take a person from the scene to the police station and then give them a breathalizer test---i think they can do it either place
