can he or she still make a plea agreement and avoid a trial or are the commited to go to trial?

  1. They can accept a plea deal without going to trial.


  2. Bond is taken to guarantee your appearance in court. Paying bond is not an admission of guilt, it is simply a promise to appear.  If you don't show up, the bond is forfeited.

    You can still show up and contest the charge, or try and work out a plea agreement.

  3. Confusing wording...but a bail or bond is the inmate's promise to get the matter resolved by going to court.  Taking a plea agreement is in effect doing the same thing, so the bail or bond would be returned.

  4. You can still make a plea agreement, paying a bond has nothing to do with the outcome of a case.
