  1. That would really depend on what age the ancestors were at the birth of their children.

Let's say every generation was age 16 at the birth of their children.   It would take 11 generations to get to 1946.

If every generation was age 25 at the birth of their children.   It would take 7 generations to get to 1945.

If every generation was age 35 at the birth of their children.   It would take 5 generations to get to 1945.

So, as you can see, there is quite a difference in how many generations it would take to get from 1770 to 1951.  It would depend on individual families.

  2. According to the web site below, the average age of a generation is 30 years.

    Step 1:  Subtract 1770 from 1951:1951 - 1770 = 181

    Step 2:  Divide 181 by 30:  6.03

Using the average age of generation cited above, six generations on average have passed since 1770.  Of course, each individual's foreparents may have married and had children earlier or later than 30 years of age.

  3. Probably seven .
