For example, if someone says he or she is strongly pro-gun-rights do you assume that person opposes g*y marriage? Why or why not?

  1. Sort of comparing apples to oranges, but I figure you are asking if a person exhibits conservative/liberal beliefs on one matter will they exhibit conservative/liberal beliefs on another matter.

I think it would be fair to say on the most part that it would be true.

  2. There are some things that would indicate this to be true, but it is never safe to assume than any one human being fits into a mold with any other human being.  For instance, I'm for gun rights and g*y marriage.  The only thing is, I'm for a limit on some gun rights.  I see no reason why a person should need an AK47 to kill Bambi or defend themselves against a criminal.  And I have no illusion that requiring waiting periods or background checks will ever stop a criminal from getting a gun, so why have them?  But I also believe that homosexuals deserve the same conjugal rights as heterosexuals, and I am not at all threatened by their being allowed to get married.  My marriage will not be affected in the least by the marriage of two people of the same s*x.

  3. You could assume so and if you do it shows your own ignorance. If it's the gun-g*y example I suppose one could because it associates guns with "macho" and g*y people are usually seen as passive.
