If someone intends to record the calls from the landline to PC should that PC be powered up all the time?

hi...

i have seen these ads in internet saying you can record all the phone calls of the landline to PC...so how do i check if some one is recording and if so does that PC have to be always on??? if i switch off the PC will it stop from recording???

  1. It is possible to record calls made from landline  to PC. It is  illegal though. What happens is, you purchase or download a software that will allow your computer to call a phone number then record the conversation.

    Most of the time, the number will come up as an unknown caller. I think that you do need a PC microphone to engage in this conversation yourself, since you are dialing another party through your computer.  Of course there could be additional fees. The only thing that you have to worry about (if you live alone) is the possibility that people are recording your conversation when they call you.  Just because you have a phone and a computer does not mean a person can record your conversations.   3. not enough information. Is it a program on your computer linked to your phone line? Yes, your computer must be on. is it a service through your phone company or an internet service? No, They will store your messages or forward them to you without leaving your computer on.

  4. Um, if the PC is off, there won't be any phone call, so there will be nothing to record.
