Question:

If someone is allergic to cats, how far apart do they have to be from a cat to not get allergic reactions?

assuming this person lives in the same house as the cat, but never goes in the room the cat stays in.

  1. It isn't the cat, it is the cat dander that causes the allergy.  She can stay a mile away from the cat, but if the dander is around the house, the allergy symptoms aren't going to change.


  2. it all depends on what on the cat you are allergic to, and how bad your allergies are.  Some people go to the doctor and get allergy shots for animals... might work... I know some people that have an anaplatic shock if they go near cats...

    I know other friends that can go neat the cat, but just can't touch him.  I think it would best for you, or whoever is allergic to the cat to see how bad the allergy to the cat is.  the person might not be able to live in the same building if the allergy is bad enough.
