If someone is taking the prescription Paxil CR, would Weight Watchers be as effective as if not on the med.?

If Someone is Taking 50mg of Paxil CR, then would they be more likely or less likely to lose wieght, let's say, if they started a wieght loss program like Weight watchers, or Jenny Craig? Next Question: does Paxil CR have the Side effects of Weight gain or appetite cravings? Thanks

Paxil is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor which increases the amount of the neurotransmitter in the brain. This has many implications as the endogenous neurotransmitter,serotonin, is responsible for mood,appetite etc. An increase would lead to appetite suppression and prevent food craving. Therefore it would facilitate weight reduction.

Becoming a healthy weight may increase your confidence and reduce you anxiety. Eating less junk food and more fresh fruit and vegetables may increase your mood and energy.

I don't think it should have any effect on how much weight you would lose on the program.
