but the way they go about being generous and thoughtful is by using other people's money...does that mean they aren't really thoughtful at all?

example. My sister is always like, Oh mom me and Cassidy are going to get you guys food tonight, you don't have to cook. Mom, do you want me to buy you Subway for lunch blah blah blah. But I am always the person who pays for it, and I don't want to. ANd then I look like the bad person!

  1. That is not generosity and thoughtfulness what your sister does.. you should put your money in a bank.. and not let her assume that she has free access to it..  If she is working she can pay from it with her own salary and if not.. then either she has a part time job ... she can pay for it.. whoever makes the suggestion should pay.. you tell her that she suggested to get food.. you put your money someplace where she can't find it.. tell her if she makes an offer to buy something it's her responsibility to pay for it..  talk to her from sister to sister and if she doesn't listen then tell your mom that she uses your money.. she is acting immature and is trying to get into the good books of your parents or your mom and she is actually taking your money for it.. everybody can do that..  she is exploiting you and she is not generous at all and not giving if she is taking from you in order to give.. everyone can give gifts if they steal from someone else or take the money as if they take it for granted that someone else will pay..you have to stand up to her.. she is older but obviously not wiser.. if she makes the offer then she has to pay for it... or work for it to get the money or she should not offer it if she got no money... x

  2. I think outside of the home, I would have a problem with this.  You offer your own assistance in your own time, not mine.  If this is your little sister, then I'm sure everyone knows its not her money.

  3. That don't sound like "giving and generous" to me. Sounds to me like she don't mind throwing you under the bus when it comes to paying up.
