  1. 147 isn't the highest break possible, its 155. I don't even think they should split the money, getting a 147 is a big achievement they should get the prize money each.

  2. A break is not your final tally, it is a score achieved in one go.

Your total score can be much higher due to fouls on your opponents part, but 147 is the highest score that can be achieved without leaving the table.

  3. LOL,how they going to do that then ???

  4. Well seeing as you can't get a break of more than 147 that isn't going to happen is it.

  5. You can't get a break higher than 147 but you can get a higher score if you use snookers, opponent fouls etc. However these cannot be counted as part of the break as they have to involve your opponent making a mistake or foul.

  6. 147 is the highest break possible

  7. 155 is the highest break possible and it would be split between all the maximums so far Carter and Ronnie

  8. Can't see how the max.of 147 can be exceeded.

  9. people just havent' got a clue eh???? the top break in snooker is 155,a foul from the breakoff leaving a freeball, take a colour as an extra red, plus a black then 15 reds,15 blacks , all the colours = 155.

if someone got higher than 147 then yes they would get the highest break prize!!!!!

  10. Snookers, free ball,  foul by opponent.

  11. fraid not naff all

  12. To everyone on this page you CAN get a break higher then 147 if a player gets a free ball after the break off before a ball is potted then a player is allowed to use a coloured ball as if it were a red, then he can pot the black so there would still be 15 reds on the table but the player would have 8 points so the highest possible break is 155 but 147 is called maximum because anything higher is rare.

I assume that it would go to the person who got the break above 147 or maybe he would share it with the other 2.

  13. How are they going to do that then?

  14. The highest break possible is 147, that is by potting the black with every red and then clearing up the table.

However, it would be possible to score more than 147 if the other player made a foul shot before the 147 break. If they hit the black before a red then the foul would be 7 points. If you then scored a 147 break your actual final score would be 154 points!

  15. The £147k is only for a 147, the only cash would be the £10k for the highest break.

  16. As 147 is the maximum break, it isn't possible to score higher.
