example: say someone says you don't have the guts to steal from a store and you say you do, and he says steal somthing now, but you know you will get caught by your parents because they are in the store, what do you do? Note: this is fiction but somthing related did happen and I need a comeback.

  1. I don't know if this will prove helpful to you because I wasn't able to absorb it until I was in my 30's, even though I knew it way sooner than that, but now I just say "Wow, you're right. I really screwed up. I don't know what I was thinking." Or something to that effect, depending on the circumstance. It's pretty much a no-lose situation because if they keep picking on you they are the ones that look like a jerk and either way you are not required to keep digging your defensive little hole deeper and deeper and coming off like a complete, denial ridden moron. At first it is difficult because, of course, we all want to be right but it is impossible to be right all the time. Suck it up, cut your losses, and move on. It also isn't a bad idea to practice a little prevention from time to time. If you see a corner, avoid painting yourself into it.

    Cheers!

  2. instead of feeling insecure..the person being forced to steal should make the stealer feel bad about steeling

  3. It sounds like someone you don't need as a friend.  Just tell them that you don't need to rip something off to get  thrill.  There are far better things to do.  They will probably ask what they are.  Use your own experience.

  4. It is always better to be safe than stupid.
