  1. I'm not sure exactly what you are saying here...

    Are you saying:

"If someone specifically requests help, then, after you give them your help/advice, they refuse to follow your advice, is this rude?"

    or:

"if someone requests your help, then refuses to even provide information about the problem they are asking help for, is this rude?"

For the first question, "No." It is not rude.  If someone asks for your advice, and you give it to them, they are not under any obligation to actually FOLLOW the advice you give.  It would be NICE, yes, but it is not rude.

For the second question, "Yes."  It IS rude.  If someone asks for your advice, and you need to get more information about the situation, and they refuse to provide the information, it is rude.  How can you give good advice to someone if they are unwilling to provide you with adequate information for you to give them any sort of well thought-out advice?

    Have a polite day.
