If someone steals my passport identity through a fraudulent means, is there any risk for me?

I want to know if there is some way that someone could cause me trouble by stealing my passport identity. I don't know how things work around the area of international security.

In computer science, there is the concept of a semaphore. It is essentially a gate keeper that determines what goes in, goes out, and how many times. It is like a stop light, but smarter.

Situation:

I enter a country by my identity, then someone uses my identity to exit that country.

When I try to exit by my identity, does a flag go off saying that I already exited? Do I become suspect for any criminal activity? What about the person who steals my identity? What happens to him?

  1. I don't know what it is like for travelling, but stolen identities are a pain in the ***.

For example, if someone steals your identity then it may be ages before you realise. By the time you do, they may have run off with hundreds of thousands borrowed in your name, they may have screwed up your credit rating and they may have committed crimes for which you are now being blamed.

The problem is that although these things can be rectified, it takes a long time during which you may find bailiffs on your door step demanding money, banks threatening to foreclose and police investigating you for crimes carried out by someone else with your identity.

  2. Every victim of identity theft suffers a great many consequences, physical, financial, emotional, legal, and more.  Yes, if they use your passport to exit, it is recorded.  Then if you try to exit on the same passport, you get grilled.  If any of your identification is stolen, alert authorities immediately!  If you report passport as stolen and someone tries to go through immigration with it, they will be caught and arrested.

  3. Going to cost you an arm and a legg to replace they could rob your house while your away if you travel a lot.

A computer and fifteen minutes they know every thing abot you from you adderss

What ever scam you worring over don't consider it.
