If someone teaches how to drive without my parents consent can they be sued?

my parents don't want to teach me how to drive.

i told them i would tell someone else to teach me how to drive.

they told me that they can sue whoever teaches me how to drive without their consent?

is this true?

  1. Well if you have your learners licence and go with a proper learning to drive company with a driver who is accredited and they have there open licence i dont see the problem. I think its strange that they wouldnt want to teach you or have anyone else teach you but there is obviously a reason for it.  

    I think it depends how old you are, but i was never asked for parental consent when i was 17 (i live in australia). I organised the lessons by myself. Have you established why they dont want you to drive?    


  2. If you are a minor and if you cause an accident your parents may be sued. And your parents can sue whoever is teaching you to drive,.

  3. sounds a bit rough, yes it could be if you have an acco n are injured they could blame the person whos car it is.  

  4. this totally depends on you're age and whether the driver will insure you as a 2nd party driver. if you're old enough and they will insure you than no but if they dont or you aren't then yes they can
