  1. My sister was born in Spain on a military base while my father was stationed there.  After living in Spain for 7 years they moved back to the US.  When she turned 18, she had to decide if she wanted to be a citizen of Spain or a US citizen.  I don't know if that still applies b/c that was about 15yrs ago.

  2. if you were born in Spain, you are spanish,....they can't take that away from you,....

    good luck!

  3. I was born in Spain and lived there until I was 15. I became a US citizen and I was able to keep my Spanish citizenship.

We´re both residence and Spain refused to recognize her as a Spaniard!!although it was not of importance to me cause I prefer her to be an American!!!So if you are a resident!!your child is not a citizen!!!

  7. If you were born in Spain , You are considered a Spanish Citizen, But when you become 18 you either Have to choose to be American or Spanish, If you decide to be American, America will only recognise that you are American, and if you choose to be Spanish, Spain will recognise you as Dual Citizen.
