  1. People who work on wall street are usually stock traders working at the NYSE or New York Stock Exchange. They will usually work for an investment company. People give the investment companies money in exchange for the hope of profit. For all the money stock traders make these people, when stocks rise, they get a percentage. Some will make millions sometimes evan billions of dollars. It is a hard and stressful job. You also must be very smart and know what stocks to buy when and then when to sell. Many think it is just luck, but it has a ton skill.

  2. A person who works on Wall Street is in the securities industry.  They generally buy, sell, trade and/or analyze stocks.  That is an oversimplification.  A common degree for a job on Wall Street is an MBA.  MBA's on Wall Street can make amazing amounts of money.  They work long hours under a great deal of pressure and are very well paid for doing so.

  3. "Working on Wall Street" just means you work for a company such as a brokerage or investment firm that does business in the stock exchanges.  This includes admin assistants, stock broker, currency traders, stock analysts, etc.  Many jobs are well-paying but along with that goes long hours, lots of stress, etc.  A degree in finance or economics goes a long way to get you the high paying job, but expect to work yourself up from the ground floor (real long hours, lots of stress, low pay).
