  1. the nursery my granddaughter goes to has an intercom system where everyone has to ring a bell. if you are not know to the staff they will ask you for a password which has been set up by the parents. if you don't know the password then the staff will ring the parents for conformation. if none is given then they call the police.

  2. Assuming you don't possess a large firearm, I'd let the Police deal with him (or her).

Failing that, If you have any big neighbours, it might be wise to call on them.

If you don't have the time to call them, then engage the guy in false (but polite) chit-chat while someone else calls them.

If you are alone - stay calm and try to take the situation outside the building, where he's away from kids and you can signal for help....

He's not there now is he...???

  3. is this  a college question? do you mean someone that is saying they are picking a child up but you are not sure? if so follow the nursery procedure ask them for id and your nursery may have  a password that only the people collecting the child and management will know.

if someone is just loitering around looking suspicious call the police

  4. find out why they want to enter

    ask for identification

get them to sign the visitor's book

supervise where they go and who they talk to

  5. Confront them....if they're evasive, call the police.

  6. where i work we have a password system, a member of staff always mans the doors and if a person we don't know comes to the door we ask who they are collecting, then we lock the door leaving the unknown person in the porch well away from the children, we then go and check with that child's teacher if they know if someone different is collecting the child and also the password, not until passwords and identity have been confirmed is that person let into school and also accompanied to that child's room to collect,

  7. shoot the kiddy fiddler!

    kill em all..

    call the cops

  8. Move the children to a safe area with another member of staff. If the person is already inside the building challenge and ask who they are and where from. If outside the building either use the intercom or an open window to ask the same question. If in doubt ring the police on 999. Never take chances.

  9. presuming this is a day nursery;

It is your responsibility ( if you are in charge of the department )

Or if you have a supervisor on the  premises , bring the supervisors attention to this  ( possible )  intruder.

I would remain calm, and focused

invite the person into your office

Explain that ,for security reasons, you must  be sure,

that who-ever, goes into the nursery,

has a legitimate reason  to do so .

Ask for details of his / her identity,

and why they have come to the nursery  today.

who were they planning ,to see there .

Remind the person, that you were not aware of their visit

Rules of entry are  there for the children's safety .

If this person , gives cause for the slightest suspicion or doubt , phone the police.

Be aware that you may be in danger . As well as the children

( is there a panic button?)

Hopefully, 'the intruder ' a legitimate reason to call in .

and all will be resolved .

    good luck
