If someone you liked had one of those ugly bug-eyed dogs, would you stop seeing them?

I wouldn't do either, you should respect there choice of pets! if they happen to like small dog, let it be. You should respect your love ones wishes, and love this person for who they are, Not dump this person because she has a breed of dog you don't like.

My mum love big longhair fluffy dog. I respect this choice. I would love a greyhound, but I know that I can't get one while i'm living with my parents as she thinks their ugly and the fact they need to be indoors, and mum doesn't like indoors dogs.

If it was my house, i would keep it indoors while i was home, but would be outside when i was out!

None of those choices are the right thing that you gave, You don't give up a dog because your partner doesn't like the current dog.Once you've got a dog, its your's for life.

You don't trade in a dog, there NOT like PIECES OF clothing!

Its something you learn to accept!

How would You like it it if this person said, I am scared of big and I want you to trade it in for a small bug eyed dog?

No, because those are real dogs, too.  I would caution them to be careful with the dog's eyes, however.
