  2. Assuming 3% per annum inflation, it would be about 134.39 (100 * 1.03^10).  Of course, that would just be in generality; A lot of things would cost more now a lot less.

  4. After many years of Studying economics and the UK economy, i have not done a caculation like this for some time.

    Glad there's a question like it.

    £100.00 in 1997 is equivalent to £117.80 in 2007

    In other words, £100.00 in 2007 could buy the same as £84.62 could in 1997

    I can not calculate what the inflation rate would be from 1998 to the present day as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has not officially released the 2008  figuires yet.
