If something is published in Seventeen Magazine, how do you know it's 100% legitimate?

I read in Seventeen magazine about making money from doing surveys online or participating in focus groups to make money. I already have a question relating to the surveys and focus groups, but this is actually a completely different question.

I searched questions and read advancedfocus and surveysavvy (those are the sites) were probably legit/safe because they were published in 17. But how are you completely sure?

I am not sure if this is a "common sense" question, but I am just trying to make sure. Thanks.

Site sources if possible :)

  1. You have to hope that the editors and publishers at 17 are doing their job.  17 is well respected within the industry, so I think it's safe to think that the facts have been checked, the contacts re-interviewed and that they've made sure the businesses they have referred to are legitimate.

I've worked as a writer and an editor and fact checking is key for both positions in the publishing industry.  After all, it's your name (thus your reputation) on the article and in the magazine's masthead as well!
