If spear cretin dies in face down defense position can he revive himself since he is also in the graveyard?

because if he couldnt wouldnt it say summon a card from the grave then send spear cretin to the grave like the creator?

Spear Cretin can't revive himself, but he can revive another Spear Cretin that was already in the graveyard ( I think ). Been a while since I played Yu-Gi-Oh!

no ... because the effect activates and resolves "before" it is sent to the graveyard ... the effect is activated as soon as its flipped (during damage calculation) but its effect cannot resolve then so it goes after the damage step but before spear cretin is sent to the graveyard ... this is similar to night assailant ... it cannot target itself although it is a legitimate target for its effect ... hope this helps

yes that is true i understand wut ya mean. however spear cretin cant revive himself though it would make sense cuz it is in da grave. but honestly i would say no but if u have another cretin in the grave u can revive him and if dat one gets destroyed then u can revive da first one. lol an endless defense wall!!!
