  1. St. Lucia may be considered small, but it is *relatively* small, and it still takes the same amount of time to travel on the ground and in the air there as anywhere else in the world.

  2. It takes about 40 mins to get from the airport to any of the Sandals resorts.  This includes a 10 minute break that the taxi will take at this little bar with a beautiful overlook point (good for pictures).  The reason it takes so long is that the roads do not cross the island in a straight line since the jungle is very mountainous.  The roads stick mainly to the coast and the taxi can only go about 40 mph since there are so many small villages.  Overall its not a bad ride and you get to see most of the island.  I would recommend the golfing, snorkling and take a day long boat ride to the village of Sourfrie.

    Have fun!

  3. Because the pace on the island is very laid back.  Try to get in that frame of mind before you go.  No rushing anywhere.  OK?  That's what a lot of the Caribbean is about.

  4. St. Lucia isn't small at all. Also it's very hilly and they don't have highways straight from one point to another. So if you just look at the map, you'll figure, well, that point isn't far from that point, but in reality it is, because you cannot cut through the mountains to get from one side to the other.
