  1. Go back to the store and pay. Otherwise the things you have from the store are stolen even if the clerk did make a mistake in giving you back the check.

    Hope this is helpful!

  2. bank error in your favor get free item!

They were the ones who screwed up not you!

But it would be very kind hearted of you to let them know and issue a new check for them!

    I wouldn't yet i'm not nice!

  3. Check your bank account in a couple of days to make sure that the check wasn't converted into a debit transaction. Then if it wasn't, you can either go back to the store and pay, or just go on with your life. If you will feel guilty about the situation go pay, if not, then I guess you got some free stuff. It just depends on YOU. If you are asking solely about the etiquette of the situation, go pay.

  4. One thing i have learned is that you don't tear up any important paper of sort. You may use it later. However, since you already did, I would go back to the store, tell them the situation and pay for it. If they found out you didn't pay for it, you would be in a lot of trouble. Better safe than sorry!

  5. I would descretly return it to them as to not get them in trouble.

  6. I would contact the store...many stores now are using automated electronic check conversion, which immediately converts the checks into a debit from your account.  They return your check because they don't need it.  Meijer for sure does this.  If they need it, take it back to them.

    Good luck!

  7. I would go back and give it to the clerk and remind her that she must be more careful because not everyone is so nice.  Chances are the clerk was new.

  8. I would either take the check back to the store and take it to the office or I would mail it with an explanation.  Probably the former.  A few cents is one thing, but my conscience wouldn't allow me to do nothing.
